Design
My journey has led me to delve into the halfway point between music and design. a field we call acoustics. It is work that stands out when it is badly done which happens too frequently.
Design can initiate change in our patterns by creating solutions to problems that range from small everyday issues to big alarming global problems. I believe the coming together of different perspectives is what puts creation into action. Approaching problems with design thinking allows me to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams showing initiative and good judgment.
Music
Music can emphasize, redefine and transcend words. Music has taught me the value of listening and has shaped my ear to sounds and silences in this world.
Having been exposed at a young age, singing at 3 years old, going through various stringed instruments to eventually find a strong relationship between the bass guitar and my voice. I am truly inspired by women who have mastered the art of playing an instrument and singing, such as Norah Jones and Esperanza Spalding and artists who have tapped into their poetic mind to tell genuine stories like Joni Mitchell.
If design can drive change and music can bring people together, acoustics has an undervalued potential worth more investigation.
