SON
“In our louder and louder world, we are losing our listening.” (Treasure, 2011)
From roommates talking loudly on the phone, to neighbors hanging pictures up on the wall, construction sites next door, city traffic on busy roads and so forth. Sound is all around and unfortunately noise is too. The health risks associated with overexposure to noise pollution are vast and undermined.
It is possible to create spaces in which there is a healthy ambience. SON is a natural domestic paint using cork dusk as the fundamental ingredient. SON encourages the user to understand the source of noise, raising awareness of the perception of sound. As this is a problem that the user is solving, painting SON onto surfaces encourages creativity, offers an emotional relief and nurtures emotional growth.
